PHOTOGRAPHY AND POEMS

WHEREVER YOU LOOK

Turquoise tint of shallow seas;

The rainbow hives of Cretan bees.

That subtle purple of ripe figs;

Pale lime of all those new spring twigs.

The blaze of pink and white we see

On both sides of the ethniki.

Bougainvillea’s crimson sprays;

The deep blue skies of summer days.

Lemon blossom, white on green,

A pomegranate’s ruby sheen

Crocus, lupins – different blues

Rocks with reds of many hues.

This island that I’ve made my home

Is far from being monochrome.
